The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has adjusted the pump price of petrol downward following fresh cuts in wholesale rates by Dangote Refinery and several depot operators.
A DAILY POST correspondent who went round filling stations in Abuja on Thursday, gathered that the state-owned firm has slashed its fuel price to N930 per litre from N945.
Checks showed that the revised price has already taken effect at multiple NNPCL retail outlets, including those along the Kubwa Expressway, in Gwarimpa, as well as in Wuse Zones 4 and 6, and other parts of the Abuja metropolis.
The latest adjustment indicates a reduction of N10 per litre at NNPCL stations.
DAILY POST also observed that other Nigerian filling stations, such as Ranoil in Gwarimpa, have reduced fuel pump prices by N5 to N935 per litre from N940.
In the same vein, MRS and AP Ardova outlets in the Federal Capital Territory were seen dispensing petrol within the N930 to N935 range.
The downward review comes on the heels of new ex-depot pricing from Dangote Refinery and major depot operators, including Pinnacle and Aiteo, which lowered their rates to N846, N845 and N844 per litre respectively as of Thursday morning.
Earlier, the spokesperson of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, Chinedu Ukadike, told DAILY POST that fuel prices may drop further as the ongoing petrol price war intensifies.
