Hundreds of residents of Ishakunmi community in Ikare-Akoko, Akoko North-East Local Government Area of Ondo State, on Wednesday endorsed Senator Olajide Ipinsagba, expressing confidence in his representation and pledging their continued support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was contained in a press statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communication to the Senator, Prince Adeyinka Ajagunna, following a colourful “Thank You and Request Ceremony” organised by the Ishakunmi Development Group in honour of the lawmaker.
The event attracted a large crowd of youths, community leaders and residents, who turned out to appreciate Senator Ipinsagba’s interventions in the area, despite the emergence of another senatorial aspirant from the community.
Speaking on behalf of the youths, the Ikare Akoko Youth Leader, Hon. Abdul (Sanziro), praised the Senator for his commitment to grassroots development, citing the construction of additional classrooms at AUD School V and the installation of solar-powered street lights, which he said had improved learning conditions and enhanced security in Ishakunmi.
He appealed to the Senator to extend his interventions to youth employment, rehabilitation of the Ishakunmi road and the provision of electric transformers to address lingering electricity challenges in the community.
Also speaking, Chief Oluke commended the Senator’s developmental efforts and offered prayers for greater success in his political career. He called for empowerment programmes targeted at youths and widows to improve their economic well-being.
Rt. Hon. Olotu Fatai (Orege) expressed gratitude to the people for the overwhelming show of support, noting that the turnout reflected the trust reposed in Senator Ipinsagba. He assured the gathering that the community’s requests and concerns would be duly communicated.
In his remarks, the Chief of Staff to the Senator, Hon. Lai Yusuf, thanked the community for the warm reception and assured residents that Senator Ipinsagba would not take their support for granted. He pledged that the issues raised would be relayed to the Senator and reaffirmed efforts to attract more developmental projects to Ishakunmi.
Adding his voice, Chief Oniyofen praised the Senator and the organisers of the event, offering prayers for unity, peace and sustained development in the community.
The ceremony was held in a festive atmosphere, reflecting the community’s appreciation of the Senator’s contributions and its hope for continued engagement and development.
