A fresh wave of anxiety has swept through the Nigerian community in the United Kingdom following reports of yet another young man’s death, marking the third such incident in three months.
The alarm was raised in a post on X by community advocate, Oluomo of Derby.
He disclosed that the latest victim, like the others before him, was under 40 and had lived in the UK for less than three years.
Oluomo of Derby wrote on X: “Just got informed that we have lost another member of the Nigerian community here in the UK.
“Something is not right somewhere.
“There’s a pattern that’s becoming too troubling to ignore. All three of the men we’ve lost in the last three months were under 40 years old and had been in the UK for less than three years.
“Whether it’s underlying health issues, stress, or the pressure of overworking to make ends meet, we don’t know for sure but this is frightening.
“We have buried two already, and now we’re preparing to bury another young man.
“To all the men in our @NIUKCommunity , please take your health seriously. Rest. Check yourself.
“Listen to your body. I’m not a medical professional, but it is deeply worrying that we have lost three young men in such a short time.
“Please, take care of yourselves.
