Leadership, as Max DePree aptly observed, is best measured by the strength and confidence of the followers it inspires, while Vince Lombardi reminds us that leaders are forged through discipline, sacrifice and hard work. These timeless truths underscore the essence of purposeful leadership—one anchored on service, courage and the willingness to step beyond comfort zones in pursuit of a greater good.
History has shown that progress rarely comes to those content with the familiar. Meaningful impact is achieved by individuals who embrace challenge, act on conviction and translate faith into deliberate action. In politics, especially, leadership demands vision, resilience and a genuine commitment to the welfare of the people.
In the political landscape of Ondo North Senatorial District, one name resonates prominently across its 72 wards: Hon. Ade Adeogun. Widely regarded as accessible and people-centred, Adeogun has earned respect among colleagues and constituents alike for his attentive listening, inclusive approach and unwavering focus on the interests of his people.
His emergence on the national stage during the 9th National Assembly, where he represented Akoko South West/Akoko South East Federal Constituency, marked the rise of a lawmaker whose tenure became synonymous with hope, mentorship and visible development. His record in office prompted supporters and stakeholders to urge him to seek a higher mandate—one they believe is necessary to reposition Ondo North from years of leadership drift.
What distinguishes Hon. Adeogun from other aspirants is his demonstrable commitment to critical sectors such as education, healthcare, employment generation, infrastructure and grassroots empowerment. During his tenure in the House of Representatives, no fewer than 600 students secured admission into Upland College of Education, Ipesi and Ifira Akoko, alongside bursary support for hundreds of others.
Beyond education, his empowerment initiatives cut across business support, artisan development and agricultural interventions. He facilitated access to start-up capital, agricultural loans and farm inputs for thousands of constituents, while also intervening decisively during emergencies, providing relief materials through relevant agencies.
His four-year stewardship recorded extensive infrastructural projects across communities in Akoko South West and Akoko South East. These include road construction and rehabilitation, bridges, community halls, town halls, motor parks, transport garages, electrification projects, classroom blocks, water schemes, security offices, police facilities and civic centres spread across Oka, Akungba, Supare, Oba, Isua, Ipesi, Ifira, Ipe and other towns within the constituency.
Hon. Adeogun also facilitated employment opportunities for over 60 constituents into federal and state institutions, including the armed forces, security agencies and public service commissions. Two constituents benefitted from five-year overseas scholarships through NIMASA, while over 1,000 others accessed COVID-19 intervention grants. In the legislature, he sponsored five bills and remained an active, visible participant in parliamentary proceedings.
The message he conveys to the people of Ondo North is consistent and clear: governance must restore hope, dignity and economic opportunity. His vision centres on creating a sustainable economic platform that empowers communities, redirects lost potential and corrects years of neglect.
Undeterred by scepticism, Hon. Adeogun continues to champion the possibility of a renewed Ondo North—one driven by integrity, competence and inclusive development. His confidence is rooted in the belief that perseverance and good leadership will usher in better days for the district.
It is against this backdrop that youths and elders across Ondo North have called on him to represent them in the Senate in 2027. This call, supporters insist, is not founded on sentiment or ambition, but on a proven record of performance and service.
To many, Hon. Ade Adeogun embodies the qualities the district seeks at this defining moment: character, commitment, integrity and a deep understanding of both policy and people. As momentum builds, one message stands out unmistakably—he is widely seen as the people’s candidate, buoyed by trust painstakingly earned over the years and a mission focused squarely on the collective future of Ondo North Senatorial District.
