Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, will on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, hold its 63rd inaugural lecture to be delivered by a Professor of Business Administration, Timothy Ihinmoyan.
The lecture, titled “Marketing and Consumers’ Destiny: Spacing, Shaping and Strategies in the 21st Century,” is expected to examine the influence of modern marketing on consumer behaviour and the strategies marketers can adopt to better understand and satisfy consumers’ needs.
The event is scheduled to take place at the university’s Multipurpose Hall by 2pm, while guests are expected to be seated by 1:30pm.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) and Chairman of Ceremonies, Prof. Adebisi Daramola, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Olugbenga Ige, will preside over the lecture.
Daramola described the inaugural lecture as another milestone in the university’s drive towards sustaining academic excellence and intellectual development.
Prof. Ihinmoyan began his academic career with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1990.
He later obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Ilorin in 1995 before earning a doctorate degree from the same institution in 2010.
The scholar joined Adekunle Ajasin University in 2011 as Lecturer I in the Department of Business Administration and rose through the ranks to attain professorship in 2019.
Over the years, he has served the institution in several capacities, including Acting Head and substantive Head of the Department of Business Administration, Departmental Postgraduate Coordinator, and Chairman of the Faculty of Administration and Management Sciences Postgraduate Seminar Committee.
He also served as Students’ Staff Adviser in the faculty and represented the faculty on the Postgraduate School Board as well as the Senate Business Committee.
Aside from his administrative contributions, Ihinmoyan has distinguished himself in research and scholarship, contributing to a book and authoring 27 journal articles published in local and international academic outlets.
He has also participated in conferences within and outside Nigeria, including Ghana, where he presented scholarly papers.
Before joining AAUA, the professor taught at the National Open University, Sobi Special Study Centre, Ilorin; Adamawa State University, Mubi; and Achievers University, Owo, Ondo State.
The don is affiliated with several professional organisations and holds the Certified Management Professional qualification from the London Bridge Business School.
He is a chartered member of the Nigerian Institute of Management and the Nigerian Institute of Marketing, a full member of the Nigerian Economic Society, and a fellow of the Institute of Policy Management Development and the Africa Institute of Public Administration.
