The Chief Executive Officer of Stanel Group and founder of The Delborough Lagos, Stanley Uzochukwu, has completed a High Performance Leadership programme at University of Oxford, months after undergoing executive training at Harvard Kennedy School in the United States.
Uzochukwu, regarded as one of Nigeria’s emerging business leaders, recently completed multiple executive education programmes at Harvard Kennedy School in 2025, including courses in Emerging Leaders, Leadership Decision Making, Leading Successful Programs Using Evidence, and Strategic Leadership for Personal Effectiveness.
He also completed a Master of Business Administration programme at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Business School in December 2025.
Founded in 2012, Stanel Group has grown into a diversified Nigerian conglomerate with interests spanning energy, hospitality and retail sectors.
Under Uzochukwu’s leadership, the company has expanded operations across the country, strengthened local value chains and created employment opportunities despite prevailing economic challenges.
In 2023, the businessman launched The Delborough Lagos, a luxury hospitality facility that has hosted global dignitaries, diplomats and other high-profile personalities.
The hotel has since gained recognition within Nigeria’s hospitality industry, earning Uzochukwu the “Seven Stars Man of the Year” award and induction into the Seven Stars Pantheon of Hospitality.
Beyond business, Uzochukwu has remained active in institutional governance and policy engagement.
The Oxford and Harvard-trained entrepreneur currently serves as Chairman of the UNIZIK Advancement Board and is also a member of the DRC-Nigeria Business Council.
He equally sits on the Governing Council of Igbinedion University and serves as a board member of UNIZIK Business School.
He is reportedly the youngest individual appointed to the governing council of Igbinedion University.
Uzochukwu is also a Certified Management Consultant of the Institute of Management Consultants of Nigeria and a Fellow of the institute.
His credentials further include certification as a Management Specialist from the London Graduate School and a doctorate degree from Commonwealth University.
Over the years, he has received several recognitions, including the Commander of Anambra State honour, SUN Newspaper Investor of the Year 2023, Guardian Newspaper Top 50 CEOs of Excellence in Nigeria 2023, and the Africa Achievers Award for Enterprise and Business Impact.
He has also spoken at the 500 CEO Summit in the United States.
Through the Stanley Uzochukwu Foundation, the businessman has supported scholarship schemes, housing projects for widows, youth entrepreneurship grants and community development initiatives across Africa.
Uzochukwu attributed his success to discipline, consistency, faith and long-term strategic thinking, noting that his journey from modest beginnings to leading a major conglomerate reflects the importance of purposeful leadership and social impact.
