Student bodies in Ondo North Senatorial District have asked Senator Olajide Ipinsagba Emmanuel to fulfil the bursary promises made to students across the constituency since 2025.
The message was contained in a letter jointly issued by the Council of Ondo North Indigenous Local Government Students Presidents and the Ondo North Elite Students Body.
The groups expressed concern over the continued delay in the disbursement of the bursary scheme, describing the intervention as vital to the educational progress and welfare of students in the district.
According to the students, several assurances had been given by the senator and his aide on students and youth matters, Mallah Farouq, that the bursaries would be paid by March 2026.
They, however, lamented that the promise had yet to be fulfilled, leaving many students frustrated and uncertain.
The student leaders noted that they had remained patient while expecting the intervention to materialise, stressing that many beneficiaries depend on such support to sustain their education amid rising economic hardship.
They urged the senator to give urgent attention to the matter, saying educational support should remain a priority for public office holders.
The letter also stated that students in the constituency deserved transparent and people-oriented representation capable of addressing their welfare needs.
The groups demanded the bursary payments to be released within one-week, warning that continued delay could force them to publicly express their grievances in the interest of affected students.
