Suspected kidnappers have reportedly killed one person and abducted two others during an attack on Imafon community in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.
One of the victims allegedly taken away by the assailants was identified as Mr. Durojaye Fagbonmire, a teacher serving in the community.
The incident, which occurred on Monday night, has thrown residents of the community and neighbouring settlements into panic, with families of the victims appealing for support and prayers for their safe return.
A notice circulated by a community-based platform, Itaogbolu News Update Management, stated that Fagbonmire was kidnapped while carrying out his duties in the area.
The group described the attack as unfortunate and called on security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue the abducted victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.
As of the time of filing this report, the identity of the second abducted victim had yet to be officially confirmed, while details surrounding the death recorded during the attack remained unclear.
Attempts to obtain comments from security authorities were unsuccessful, as no official statement had been issued on the incident.
