A Redeemed Christian Church of God worshipper has narrated how a playful request she made during Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s 83rd birthday celebration reportedly became a reality after she gave birth to triplets.
The woman, a member of Region 12 of the church, shared the experience during the Friday Holy Ghost Service at the ongoing RCCG convention in Redemption City, Ogun State.
She said the incident began last year when members of the church were encouraged to make personal requests to God as part of activities marking Adeboye’s 83rd birthday.
According to her, she jokingly asked for triplets, using the number three in Adeboye’s age as the inspiration for her request.
She said, “Last year when Daddy GO, Pastor Adeboye, was celebrating his 83rd birthday, they asked us to request from God whatever we wanted.
“So I jokingly said, ‘Daddy GO is celebrating 83 years, so I want the three on it.’ I asked God for triplets.”
The worshipper said she later became pregnant, but an early scan indicated that she was expecting twins.
However, she said a subsequent scan carried out when she was seven months pregnant revealed that she was actually carrying three babies.
She explained that she became doubtful of the result and underwent four separate scans before accepting the development.
“When I got pregnant, I did a scan and it showed two. After seven months, it showed three. I did not believe it, so I did four different scans,” she said.
According to the woman, she eventually delivered the three babies, but her joy was briefly replaced by fear when one of the newborns began bleeding from the mouth and nose.
She said she prayed for the child’s survival and made a commitment to return to the church with the triplets to testify if all three survived.
“Then I said, ‘God of Adeboye, this was not what I requested for. It was just a joke,’” she recounted.
She said the babies eventually survived and were brought before the congregation during the service.
The woman identified the triplets as Destiny, Desmond and Diamond, describing their birth and survival as the fulfilment of what she had initially considered a mere joke.
Her testimony formed part of the accounts presented during the Friday Holy Ghost Service at the RCCG convention, which attracted worshippers from across Nigeria and other parts of the world.
