OAUSTECH VC, Ologunorisa hails Aiyedatiwa over 60% subvention increase

The Vice-Chancellor of Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa, Prof. Temi Ologunorisa, has commended Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for approving a 60 per cent increase in the monthly subvention to state-owned tertiary institutions.

Ologunorisa also praised the governor for approving the implementation of the 2026 agreements reached between the Federal Government and university-based unions, describing both decisions as significant steps towards strengthening tertiary education in the state.

In a statement issued by the Directorate of Information, Protocol and Public Relations of OAUSTECH on Wednesday, the Vice-Chancellor said the increased funding would improve the institution’s ability to provide quality teaching, research and better welfare for its staff and students.

He noted that improved financial support would enable the university to meet its obligations more effectively and enhance its academic operations.

The Vice-Chancellor further said the approval of the Federal Government-unions agreements would help prevent industrial disputes and promote stability across state-owned tertiary institutions.

“This demonstrates Your Excellency’s commitment to education and human capital development in Ondo State. OAUSTECH remains committed to supporting the OUR EASE Agenda of your administration,” Ologunorisa stated.

He said the interventions reflected the governor’s commitment to making education a priority and improving the welfare of workers and students in the state.

The university management, Senate, staff and students expressed appreciation to Aiyedatiwa for what they described as his continued support for the institution and prioritisation of the education sector.

They pledged to sustain their support for the administration’s policies aimed at advancing education and human capital development in Ondo State.
