Police Comb Forest As Gunmen Kidnap 5 Persons In Ondo




No fewer than 5 persons have been reportedly kidnapped by unknown gunmen enroute Auga-Ise road in Akoko North East Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The kidnapped victims who were mainly teachers of Auga Community Grammar School, included the School's Principal, Joshua Adeyemi, his Vice, Ifedayo Yesufu and 3 others whose names were given as: Oloyede Bukola, Adagunodo Funmilayo and Blessing Okeke.

It was learnt that the kidnappers, on Thursday, ambushed the unsuspecting victims and immediately whisked them away into the forest. 

Although one of the victims, Blessing Okeke, was released after the captors knew she was heavily pregnant. 

Narrating the incident, the pregnant woman said they were waylaid while traveling in a Toyota Corrola car, adding that they trekked for 1hour inside thick forest.

Confirming the incident the Divisional Police Officer for Ikare division, Superintendent of Police S.P Oladutoye Akinwan, said Police have commenced combing of the forest to arrest the criminals and set free the victims.
