Ondo Govt. lauds health agency for winning $500,000


The Ondo State Government has lauded the State Primary Healthcare Development Agency for winning the best leadership award with a whooping sum of $500,000 at a ceremony held in Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The state  Head of Service ( HoS), Pastor Kayode Ogundele, who visited the agency commended the agency for standing tall among states in Nigeria

The HoS, who was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary Office  of Establishment and Training, Mrs  Dare Atunse, and the Administrative Secretary Service Matters Department, Governor’s Office, Mr Femi Ayodele,  said the state was noted for excellence.

He added that as public servants, efforts must be geared towards getting the best always.

Ogundele reminded public servants in the state to always take seriously whatever position they occupied, noting that the rewards for hardwork  would definitely come when least expected.

The HoS said the Ondo State Service Improvement Programme ( ODSIP) was a reform programme of Gov.  Oluwarotimi Akeredolu-led administration that was aimed at making public servants  deliver on government programmes.

Also speaking, the agency’s  Permanent Secretary, Dr Francis Akanbiemu, said the PHC  Leadership Challenge Award  was anchored by Nigeria Governor’s  Forum, the Federal Ministry of Health, National Primary Health Care Development Agency, UNICEF and other partners that  evaluated the performances of PHCs in the country

Akanbiemu, who was represented by the Director Planning Research and Statistics of the Agency, Dr Yetunde Olagbuji, said the rating which was done independently attracted $500,000.

The Permanent Secretary ,who informed the HoS that the agency was recently rated the best in Cold Chain management in the country, assured the HoS that the management and other PHC  staff in the state would continue to do the state proud.
