A 65-year-old man, Emmanuel Ademuyiwa, was on Thursday brought before an Ona-Ara Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, over alleged N750, 000 land fraud.

Ademuyiwa of no fixed address, was charged with obtaining money under false pretences and stealing.

The prosecutor, Insp Adeshina Folaranmi told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Oct. 17, 2023, at about 12 noon, at Adetomiwa village, off Olorunda, Ibadan.

Folaranmi said the defendant collected the sum of N750,000 from Oluwo Ogungbade Ibadan, Iroyin Ayo Credit Investment Co-operative Society, Ltd, with a promise to sell one and a half acres of land to them.

The Magistrate, Mr Ayorinde Ayo-Alagbe granted the defendant bail in the sum of N150,000 with one surety in like sum.
