2027: Fayose names 10 states APC may struggle to win

Social commentator and businessman, Isaac Fayose, has claimed that the ruling All Progressives Congress may struggle to win in three of Nigeria’s states with the highest number of registered voters ahead of the 2027 general elections without electoral malpractice.

Fayose made the claim in a video shared on his official Facebook page on Tuesday, where he questioned the ruling party’s popularity despite its control of the Federal Government.

He listed Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Rivers, Oyo, Delta, Benue, Ogun and Bauchi as states with large voting populations, arguing that the APC could not win in at least three of them without rigging.

The social commentator accused the ruling party of relying on its control of security agencies and support from wealthy individuals rather than grassroots acceptance.

“You are strong because you have the police, the army and the rich people, but you are not strong on the street. You are all bullies,” he said.

Fayose also challenged the APC to demonstrate its popularity by allowing opposition parties to campaign freely and participate in credible elections.

He questioned why opposition groups were allegedly being prevented from campaigning in some states as political activities gathered momentum ahead of the polls.

“If you people are sure of yourselves, why not allow free and fair elections? Why are you stopping us from campaigning?” he asked.

He added that only a free, fair and credible electoral process would determine the strength of the ruling party and the opposition, insisting that the outcome should be decided by voters.
