Ex-PDP Chieftain, Fabiyi emerges ADC Deputy National Financial Secretary

Hon. Oladimeji Fabiyi, who served as the Peoples Democratic Party's pioneer financial officer, has been sworn in as the African Democratic Congress' Deputy National Financial Secretary.

The ADC Southwest zonal caucus approved Fabiyi's appointment during a meeting in Ibadan on Tuesday, alongside eight other party officials.

The caucus also confirmed Mr. Akinbowale Omole as National Vice Chairman for the Southwest and Capt. Tunji Shelle as National Director of Communication and Programmes. Alh. Kafilat Olayiwola was ratified as Deputy National Woman Leader.

Additional ratifications included Arc. Bashir Lawal as Assistant National Secretary for Diversity and Inclusion, Prof. Bode Ayorinde as Assistant National Organising Secretary, and Mrs Yidiat Oseni as Deputy Coordinator for Diaspora. Olufemi Adeleye and Lady Lydia Olufunmiloye were confirmed as Assistant National Woman Leader.

Speaking at the event, the ADC National Secretary and former Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, urged the newly ratified officials to prioritise the party's collective interests.

Aregbesola stated that the ADC was being repositioned to deliver Nigeria from what he termed the All Progressives Congress' destructive governance.

"The task ahead is enormous, we must be ready to lead Nigerians out of the woods," he said.

Responding on behalf of the newly confirmed executives, Fabiyi praised Aregbesola's leadership style and assured the party hierarchy of their commitment to advancing the ADC's objectives.

The appointments are expected to strengthen the party's organisational structure ahead of future electoral contests.
