A prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholder in Adamawa State, Mallam Abdulrahaman Buba Kwacham, has lashed out at former Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai, describing him as a “jealous, bitter soul” and a “pathological liar” in reaction to recent claims against National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.
In an exclusive phone interview, Kwacham, who is vying for the APC ticket for Adamawa North Senatorial District, dismissed El-Rufai’s assertion that Ribadu intended to harm him as baseless and fueled by personal envy.
“El-Rufai has harboured a longstanding grudge against Mallam Nuhu Ribadu. His statements are consistently untrue and collapse under even minimal scrutiny. I know Ribadu personally – he is far more principled and honest than El-Rufai could ever claim to be,” Kwacham said.
He accused the former governor of suffering from a “pulling-down syndrome,” driven by jealousy, and urged him to halt what he described as unwarranted attacks.
“The people of Adamawa State have immense respect for Mallam Ribadu and will not stand by while his character is being maligned,” Kwacham warned.
The APC leader also condemned what he called El-Rufai’s “shameless conduct” while in office, alleging serious misconduct during his tenure as Kaduna State Governor.
“Enough is enough. El-Rufai conveniently forgets the injustices he committed against innocent citizens of Kaduna. If we begin to detail these actions, the truth would shock Nigerians,” he added.
Kwacham went further to demand federal intervention, accusing El-Rufai of treasonable conduct over a recent television revelation in which the former governor reportedly admitted to monitoring phone communications of Ribadu and other Nigerians.
“That admission constitutes a serious breach of national security and is a treasonable offence. The federal government should immediately take action against Mallam Nasir El-Rufai,” he stated.
The remarks highlight growing tensions and personal rivalries within APC as political figures position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
