A student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, Kehinde Daodu, has emerged winner of the Mr Oka 2026 pageant organised by Golden Entertainment, Oka-Akoko.

Daodu, an indigene of Ibaka, Oka-Akoko, is a student in the Department of Surveying at the university.

He defeated other contestants at the pageant after impressing the judges with his confidence, composure, intelligence and personality.

The competition provided young men from the community with an opportunity to demonstrate their talents, leadership abilities, confidence and knowledge of the cultural heritage of Oka-Akoko.

Speaking after his emergence, Daodu said the crown came with a responsibility to represent his community positively and encourage other young people to pursue their aspirations.

He said his new position would be used to support initiatives focusing on youth development, education, cultural promotion and community unity.

The development has attracted congratulatory messages from his family, friends, colleagues and other residents of Oka-Akoko, who described his emergence as a significant achievement.

Some of his supporters expressed optimism that his academic background and new community role would enable him to inspire young people to pursue excellence while maintaining a strong connection with their cultural roots.

The pageant also formed part of Golden Entertainment’s efforts to provide a platform for young people to display their abilities and promote the cultural identity of Oka-Akoko.

The organisers said the event was designed not only as an entertainment programme but also as an avenue for youth participation and community engagement.

Daodu’s emergence adds to a growing list of young Oka-Akoko indigenes combining academic pursuits with activities aimed at contributing to the development and promotion of their community.
