Man lands in court for allegedly advertising military helicopter for sale

A 47-year-old man, Mark Agbor, has been arraigned over allegations that he impersonated others and gained unauthorised access to restricted areas at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, after allegedly advertising a military combat helicopter for sale on social media.

The spokesperson for the Airport Police Command, Adeola Mohammed, disclosed this in a statement, noting that Agbor was handed over to the command’s International Division by the Nigerian Air Force’s Provost Investigation Unit in Ikeja for further investigation and prosecution.

Police alleged that Agbor, an employee of Pathfinders International Limited, uploaded a video on October 7, 2026, in which he claimed to own two military combat helicopters and offered one of them for sale.

Following the investigation, the suspect was brought before a court of competent jurisdiction to answer the allegations. The matter was adjourned until November 18, 2026.

The Commissioner of Police for the Airport Police Command, Olufunke Ogunbode, described the incident as a serious security concern, warning that actions of this nature could threaten the operations of security agencies.

Ogunbode assured that the case would be handled in line with the law and commended the Nigerian Air Force for its collaboration with the police during the investigation.

She also urged companies and other organisations operating within the airport environment to strengthen employee screening, background checks and vetting procedures to reduce the risk of security breaches.

The command reaffirmed its commitment to working with other security agencies to safeguard lives and critical national infrastructure, while urging members of the public to remain vigilant and support efforts to maintain security at the airport.
