‘My manhood stopped working after brain surgery’ — Nigerian comedian

Nigerian comedian and actor, Julius Agwu, has disclosed that he experienced sexual dysfunction following a brain surgery he underwent in the United States in 2015.

Agwu made the revelation while appearing on the Beer Parlour Talk Show, where he reflected on the health crisis that forced him to undergo surgery and the lasting effects it had on different aspects of his life.

The comedian explained that his sexual function was affected after the operation, responding to a question about whether the illness and subsequent treatment had impacted other parts of his body.

According to him, the problem began after the surgery, which was performed after doctors discovered three tumours in his brain, including one said to have been about the size of a golf ball.

Other participants on the programme discussed the possible connection between the affected nerve and the part of the brain involved in the procedure, as Agwu recounted the physical consequences he had experienced since the operation.

The comedian also spoke about his contribution to the Nigerian entertainment industry, particularly his role in developing music comedy. He noted that his ability to combine music with comedy had distinguished his performances over the years.

Agwu, however, became emotional while discussing the difficult period in his life, lamenting that some people he considered friends abandoned him during his health struggles.

He said he had been deeply hurt by the way some of his associates distanced themselves from him, adding that he had left the matter in God's hands.

Agwu has remained a notable figure in Nigeria's comedy and film industries, having built a career around comedy, music and acting before his health challenges significantly disrupted his activities.
