Ondo govt deploys equipment, personnel for NAF crash rescue operation

The Ondo State Government has deployed additional equipment and personnel to support ongoing rescue operations at the site of the Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area.

The deployment followed a directive by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to strengthen the efforts of federal agencies and military formations involved in the operation.

The Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands and Housing, Abiola Ayorinde Olawoye, mobilised amphibious equipment and personnel to improve access to the difficult terrain where the crash occurred.

The state Commissioners for Health and Environment have also joined the response, providing support for medical intervention and environmental management at the scene.

Personnel of the Ondo State Emergency Management Agency are equally participating in the emergency response and rescue efforts.

The government said the additional resources were aimed at complementing the efforts of federal and military responders already working at the crash site.

It added that all relevant state agencies had been directed to remain available and provide whatever assistance was required to facilitate the operation.

The state government reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the rescue operation until the ongoing efforts at the crash site are concluded.
