The Ondo State Competition and Consumer Protection Agency has commenced the mandatory registration of businesses operating across the state, giving operators one month to comply before enforcement begins.
The agency said the registration, which is free of charge, is compulsory for all businesses operating within Ondo State and is aimed at ensuring that operators obtain official registration with the agency.
In a notice issued by the Executive Chairman of the agency, Oluyemi Fasipe, businesses were directed to use the one-month grace period to complete the process and obtain their ODCCPA Registration ID and certificate.
Fasipe warned that businesses that fail to register before the expiration of the grace period could face sanctions and applicable fines in line with the relevant law.
The agency said the registration process had been simplified to enable business owners to complete it online without difficulty.
According to the notice, operators are required to visit the agency’s official registration portal and complete the process within the stipulated period.
The ODCCPA urged businesses not to wait until the expiration of the grace period before registering, stressing that the exercise was free and mandatory.
The agency said enforcement would commence immediately after the one-month window, with non-compliant businesses liable to the penalties prescribed by law.
