NAAS, Ondo lawmaker, Agbulu distributes school materials, sanitary pads to Akungba pupils, students

The National Association of Akungba Students has distributed school bags, notebooks and other learning materials to pupils and students in Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State, as part of its back-to-school support programme.

The initiative, which also featured the distribution of sanitary pads to female students, was aimed at easing the cost of preparing children for the new academic session and promoting menstrual hygiene among schoolgirls.

The programme was supported by an Akungba indigene, Hon. Tope Akeem Agbulu, whose contribution, according to NAAS, helped facilitate the exercise.

During the first phase, the association visited Ansar-Ud-Deen Primary School and Community Comprehensive Primary School, where it distributed notebooks, pens, pencils and school bags to pupils.

The exercise continued at Holy Trinity Primary School and AC/CAC United Primary School, with members of the association interacting with pupils and school authorities before distributing additional educational materials.

The association also extended the initiative to female pupils and students through its Pad-A-Girl Child component, under which sanitary pads were provided alongside sensitisation on menstrual hygiene, personal care and dignity.

On the final day, the NAAS team visited Community Comprehensive High School, Ansar-Ud-Deen Grammar School and Oroke High School, where students and school authorities received the educational and girl-child support.

The National President of NAAS, Comrade Adedayo Yetunde, said the initiative was part of the association's effort to support education and respond to the needs of young people in the community. He expressed appreciation to Agbulu and others who contributed to the success of the programme.
