The Akure Youths for BTO has commenced preparations for a grassroots mobilisation campaign in support of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The convener of the group, Alhaji Saliu Adekunle, gave the directive during a meeting with members of his team and leaders of various sub-groups and wards in Akure, Ondo State.
Adekunle directed members across the 11 wards in Akure South Constituencies I and II to merge their structures and work with existing ward and polling-unit leaders as part of efforts to strengthen the group’s grassroots operations.
He said members of the various sub-groups would be expected to operate within their respective wards and polling units while coordinating mobilisation activities with local leaders.
Adekunle also announced the commencement of ward-to-ward and unit-to-unit mobilisation, including door-to-door engagements with residents.
He said the formal commencement of the grassroots campaign had been fixed for Thursday, September 17, by the Akure Youths for BTO Secretariat.
The group also secured the support of the Lion of Bourdillon Waves, led by its National Convener, Engr. Daniel Oke, for the mobilisation exercise.
Adekunle said the collaboration would bring together the structures of both groups at the ward and polling-unit levels to strengthen their campaign activities in support of Tinubu.
Members and leaders of the participating groups, including APC members in the various wards and units, were said to have expressed readiness to participate in the exercise and deploy available campaign materials during the mobilisation.
